July Blogging Challenge, Day 4: Celebrate
Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans! Here’s a taste of what we did to celebrate today:
We fed ducks – again (different ducks this time, though). We really like doing that 🙂
We went to Toys R Us, but didn’t buy anything. It was fun to look around, though. At the end, Small Fry got to ride in the “Apple Car” with Lowly Worm (from the works of Richard Scarry). We have a DVD of Busytown stories that he likes to watch sometimes, so this was a treat for him.
We had flanken steak short ribs for dinner, alongside a salad and some glazed carrots. No picture, but it was delicious!
And finally, we had some friends over and lit off fireworks outside our home. It was the first time we’ve really done a “fireworks show” at home (we’ve gone several big ones in the past), and it was really fun. Well, except for the “Screaming Rose” fireworks. Those were mostly obligatory to light up since they came in the pack. (The giant package of fireworks was a gift for the boys from Grandpa – my dad.)
I hope you all had just as wonderful a day as we did!
Blessings,
