  1. Super interesting, Wendy! My boys have all been potty-trained between 2-3 and my baby (20 months) is really interested. It totally shocked me! She’s wearing underwear and sits on the toilet a zillion times but never actually does anything. ๐Ÿ™‚ The thing I hate most about potty-training is if it gets on my carpet! ACK! I think it’s great to let the kids lead in this area. It sure makes things easier on everyone!

I wonder if you’re having such interest in your daughter because a) she’s a girl; b) you used cloth diapers, at least for a time, with her; or c) because she sees everyone else in the family using the potty.

We’re lucky because we don’t have carpet. Accidents are easy to clean up when all the floors are laminate.

Child led is definitely easier when it comes to potty training! When it’s something the child wants to learn/do, they’re more likely to make it a priority for themselves.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by and commenting! Yeah, letting potty training be child led only works if they’re actually interested, lol. At a certain point, it has to happen whether they want to or not – I think 3 is that age. (That’s just my opinion, of course. Every child and situation is different.)
